four-women

This is the heartfelt story of Sheela, Sushma, Jaya, and Rekha, four friends from Delhi who made a pact to reclaim their time — time for themselves, time for laughter, and time for peace.

With their busy office schedules and barely any time off, they rarely got the chance to travel together. But one Friday evening, after finally getting a green signal from their bosses, they packed their bags, full of excitement and wanderlust.

They left Delhi by road in the evening to make the most of their weekend — sharing snacks, playing music, and chatting their hearts out.

Day 1: Arrival at Camp Nirmit, Bhimtal

By late afternoon, the friends reached Camp Nirmit, welcomed by the crisp mountain air and their warm host, Ganesh. The campsite was nestled among pine trees, with views of the hills and the perfect setting for a weekend getaway.

Ganesh greeted them with herbal tea and a plate of local snacks. After check-in, they relaxed in their cozy tents surrounded by nature.

Activities they enjoyed:

  • A fun session of archery and badminton on the campgrounds
  • Evening bonfire with music and hot pakoras
  • Star-gazing while sharing memories from college days

Dinner was a delicious spread of local Uttarakhand cuisine
They savored dishes like:

  • Mandua ki Roti (finger millet flatbread)
  • Aloo ke Gutke (spiced pahadi potatoes)
  • Jhangora Kheer (barnyard millet dessert)

Ganesh made sure they felt like family.

Day 2: Exploring Mukteshwar & Waterfall Adventures

After breakfast, the group set out to visit the sacred Mukteshwar Dham Temple. The peaceful temple, surrounded by deodars, gave them a spiritual boost.

Later, they hiked to the Bhalu Garh Waterfall. The water gushed through rocks as they dipped their feet and clicked tons of photos. It was pure joy and freedom.

In the evening, they walked through a nearby village, interacting with locals, learning about traditional Kumaoni life, and even trying their hand at spinning wool.

Day 3: Sunrise, Bhimtal Lake & Boating

They woke up early for a short trek to a viewpoint and were rewarded with a glorious sunrise over the hills. Cameras came out. Silence was felt. It was a magical moment.

Later, they went to Bhimtal Lake, just a short drive away. They enjoyed:

  • Boating together on the calm waters
  • Visiting the island aquarium
  • Strolling through the local bazaar for souvenirs

Lunch was at a lakeside café serving fusion pahadi platters.

Day 4: Paragliding & Picnic Vibes

After a relaxed morning, the girls decided to try something daring — Paragliding in Naukuchiatal! For some, it was their first time, and though nervous, the thrill in the air was unforgettable. The views of the valley were breathtaking.

The rest of the day was spent enjoying a picnic-style meal, soaking up the sun, and playing board games near the lake.

 Day 5: Bidding Goodbye

They didn’t want to leave, but as all good things must end — they began their drive back to Delhi. They took with them:

  • Memories of laughter and deep conversations
  • Beautiful photos of the sunrise and sunset
  • A stronger bond of sisterhood
  • And promises to travel again soon
