Day 1: Departure from Delhi – The Journey Begins

Our family of eight members, full of excitement and curiosity, began the day early from Delhi. With Ram Kumar, our young and energetic driver at the wheel—who knows the hills like the back of his hand—we were all set for a smooth ride.

Along the way, we made a stop at a quaint roadside dhaba for a hearty breakfast. Fresh parathas, hot tea, and the crisp morning breeze kicked off the journey on a perfect note.

Later, as the sun climbed higher, we stopped again for lunch—simple but delicious North Indian food served with a smile.

Evening: Arrival at Camp Nirmit, Bhimtal

By late evening, we reached the peaceful retreat of Camp Nirmit, Bhimtal, nestled among pine forests and overlooking beautiful valley views.

We were greeted warmly by Ganesh Ji, the caretaker and supervisor of the camp. His smile and hospitality instantly made us feel at home. He welcomed us with evening tea and freshly prepared snacks, served around a cozy outdoor setup.

Dinner Under the Stars

Dinner was a treat—traditional Kumaoni dishes, rich in flavor and prepared with local ingredients. We dined under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of nature and the warmth of family.

Day 2: Exploring Bhimtal & Beyond

The next day was packed with sightseeing and adventure:

  • Bhalu Gaad Waterfall – A scenic and offbeat gem. A short trek led us to this hidden cascade, where kids splashed in the water and elders soaked in the serenity.
  • Dol Ashram – A peaceful spiritual center surrounded by forest. We meditated for a while and enjoyed the tranquility.
  • Bhimtal Lake – We took a calm boat ride across the lake, watching birds fly low and enjoying the cool breeze.
  • Nainital Lake – Just a short drive away, we explored Mall Road, did some shopping, and enjoyed hot momos by the lake.
  • Mukteshwar Temple – Nestled at a higher altitude, the temple offered divine vibes and stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas.

Back to Camp Nirmit – Bonfire & Memories

Returning to Camp Nirmit in the evening, we gathered around a bonfire, sharing laughter, music, and stories. With the stars above and pine-scented air all around, it was a night to remember.
